Our Mission

In the early morning of the 7th of October of 2023, I learned Italy conducted its sympathies to Israel (for whatever reason, I was not able to glean at that moment). A few moments later, I learned of the Hamas attacks on Israel at its southern border. I immediately reached out to my friend and instructor, Zohar, to learn news of his safety and that of our family. He was, as always and as part of our understanding of the Creator, fine. However, within the raw and unrefined part of our soul, we recognized many were killed mercilessly and brutally. I thought of my dearest friend, Elie Wiesel’s solemn words:

Never shall I forget that night, the first night in camp, that turned my life into one long night seven times sealed.
Never shall I forget that smoke.
Never shall I forget the small faces of the children whose bodies I saw transformed into smoke under a silent sky.
Never shall I forget those flames that consumed my faith for ever.
Never shall I forget the nocturnal silence that deprived me for all eternity of the desire to live.
Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to ashes.
Never shall I forget those things, even were I condemned to live
as long as God Himself.
Never.

And I cried. I did not stop crying for the entirety of the following week. In my deepest soul (Blessed be the Creator now and forever), I knew He allowed this atrocity to happen for His eternal purposes. Yay, even Elie’s horror was allowed according to the Will of the Almighty. And as was stated in his first book, “Night”, (and I paraphrase), “if we acknowledge the existence of the Almighty and He is indeed all mighty, then certainly the last word belongs to Him.”

For me, I know my ego cannot accept such an ideology that to it seems so much claptrap, tomfoolery, pablum, or at worst a lie. However, if (and only if), I enter into the “holy of holies”, i.e., the depth of my soul’s connection to the Almighty, I have no choice but to recognize what I see is NOT what He sees. If we look through the eyes of the Almighty, everything is perfectly good as He stated without equivocation in the Creation story. “And it was good.” Never did He allow anything “bad” in it. As any engineer, scientist, inventor, designer, or similar tradesperson will admit, they will never purposefully introduce a design flaw in their work.

Therefore, as Ambassadors of the Almighty, our work is to justify Him. We cannot engage in judgement or else we continue to propagate horror. All we can do is work within the system He has made. We continue to battle, as Jacob did, the ego within us and overcome it so we can validate the statement, “My Sons (all of us) have defeated Me.” We must overcome our natural inclination to hurt, insult, cause pain, and betray the essence of the Creator from where we all come, so we can see with a clean heart and clean eyes.

When we come to that state, we will no longer have separations of any kind. We will see everything as One as He is One. We will see no boundaries, no distances, no time, no death, and see only life. For He is Life and He is the Light of all of us. In Him, there is NO deceit, no machinations, no subterfuge, and no lie. It cannot exist in Him because He is what He is (YHVH), which is TRUTH. Amen and blessed be His Name now and forever.

A God who remembers.
