The Middle Line
The history of humans has been defined by egoism, or more properly, the desire to serve oneself. Since the dawn of humanity, no one has been immune; however, the desire to escape it, similar to an escape velocity, has been seemingly impossible.
The energy required, like escape velocity, does not seem accessible. V1, the escape velocity, is a fixed value based on the proportions of earth (Mp or mass, R or radius, and G, the gravitational constant) = ca. 28,800 mph. Imagine going that fast!? The fastest jets are a fraction of that velocity! To escape earth (ego), we need to muster sufficient acceleration around the earth to get to this velocity.
Where does the acceleration (push) to escape come from? From the rocket fuel! Yet, it seems we humans don’t have this kind of fuel. The only fuel we have is to stay close to earth (ego). Escape can only be done by assistance. That assistance comes from accessing something greater than us. Accessing it means recognizing “evil” and “good” are two faces of the same coin and their marriage allow us to recognize a truth well beyond ourselves. This truth is in all aspects of the universe. There is a duality which allows everything to exist and be studied. We need dark to see (pure light doesn’t allow vision), we need cold to recognize heat, and we need hate to feel love or else all of these “good” emotions are moot.
Our soul’s ego escape velocity is only attained by plugging into a power that is free of egoism. Many religions call that power “God” or some other derivative. Suffice it to say we need something like this. A power that has made the duality in which we recognize the truth of existence.
